Olaf Blanke
Professor of Cognitive Neuroscience and Laboratory Director at the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology

Olaf Blanke received his MD and PhD in Neurophysiology from the Free University of Berlin ( Germany ) & University of Paris ( France ). He conducted his neurology residency and postdoctoral research in Neuropsychology, Electrophysiology, and Neuroimaging at the Geneva University Hospital ( Switzerland ). Since 2004, he has been a Professor of Cognitive Neuroscience and Laboratory Director at the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology (Ecole Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne; EPFL). He is also a consultant neurologist at the Geneva University Hospital . He is a member of the Society for Neuroscience, Cognitive Neuroscience Society, and Swiss Society for Neuroscience. His expertise is in corporeal awareness and self consciousness, brain imaging, cognitive neuroscience, behavioural neurology, epilepsy, and cognitive neuropsychiatry. Dr. Blanke is the recipient of multiple awards.
